SolarBatteryCovers.ie is the authorised Irish reseller for solar battery and inverter covers made by Battery Covers Ltd (UK), trading as Embrace Renewables. This page sets out your rights around returns and refunds on orders delivered to the Republic of Ireland.

Every cover we sell is made to order, to the size, colour, insulation and lock spec you choose at checkout. Because of that, most orders are not eligible for a change-of-mind return under Irish law. If your cover arrives faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, you're fully covered, and we'll sort it quickly.

8.1 Made to Order: No Change of Mind Return

Because every cover is manufactured after your order is placed, to your chosen specification, it's exempt from the standard 14 day right of withdrawal under Regulation 6(3)(c) of the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013.

That means once your order is confirmed, you won't have a statutory right to cancel simply because you've changed your mind. Take your time choosing the size, colour and specification before you check out.

This exemption doesn't touch your rights if the product is faulty or doesn't match what was described. Those rights are set out below and apply regardless.

8.2 Faulty or Misdescribed Products

Check your order as soon as it arrives. If something's wrong, damaged, defective, or not what you ordered, get in touch with us straight away. The sooner we hear from you, the faster we can sort it.

Email sales@solarbatterycovers.ie with a description of the problem and photos where you can. We'll arrange an inspection and, depending on what we find, offer a repair, replacement, or refund in line with your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and our warranty terms.

8.3 Business Customer Returns

Business Customers don't have a statutory right to cancel under the 2013 Regulations, and our covers are made to order and excluded from that right for every customer regardless. Returns from Business Customers are handled case by case and need agreement in writing before anything is sent back. A restocking fee may apply.

This doesn't affect your rights if goods are faulty or misdescribed under the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980.

How long does a refund take once it's agreed? We process refunds within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or proof of return, whichever comes first.

I'm a solar installer. Do I have the same return rights? No. Business customers don't have a statutory cancellation right, and our made-to-order covers are excluded from it in any case. Returns need written agreement in advance. Get in touch to discuss your situation.
